Hi! I am 31 years old and after suffering (yeah suffering) with acne since middle school and trying every drug, old wives' tale and hint and/or suggestion, I am finally starting Accutane which my dermatologist has sworn will rid me of this burden forever. I know it kind of sounds insane that I say I suffer with acne and it is a burden. I know people suffer with cancer, not acne, but it is a major psychological problem for me. It makes me feel worthless and embarassed. It makes me want to hide from everyone. I am mom to a 4 year old son and I refuse to let my problems affect him, although I feel that sometimes I fail at this. I am so excited to start this treatment and hope with all I have that it once and for all stops my acne. I am also getting serious about working out again. I am not overweight or anything, but I have let myself go to the point that I am not very comfortable in my own skin anymore. I am not on any diet just watching my intake of crap food. Beer does not count :) Although I have switched to Bud Light...and I workout at the gym. I run a little bit (a mile or so) and lift weights and sometimes swim.
OK so other than that like I said I am mom to my 4 year old Charlie. He is really an awesome kid. He has started pre school and is in a program for speech therapy. He and I spend alot of time watching football, playing video games and listening to music. He LOVES Skynyrd! He drives me insane sometimes, but the good outweighs the bad by far! I am married to Tim who is a commercial fisherman. We are very different people and rarely see eye to eye on things but we enjoy bowling and fishing together and as a family!
I am graduating from college in May. I go to Roger Williams University and I will have a B.S. in Criminal Justice. I have no idea of what I am going to do with it but I will be going back to work full time this summer or in September. As of now I own a small gumball machine business but it mainly just gives me beer money for the week!
I mostly started this journal to keep up with my Accutane treatment but of course the rest of my life will be in here as well. I hope to find other people who are going through what I am or have gone through it and maybe help support each other!
